Information on Birth Centers
Birth centers offer help with delivery and health guidance for newborns and pregnant women. (No medical services are provided).
In the event medical services or examinations become necessary, they will be performed by a doctor located in the birth center or at a medical facility (hospital or clinic).
However, of the birth centers listed below, some may be able to provide examination services. Contact them directly to inquire.

Children’s nationality(CLAIR supplement)
The laws regarding nationality changed on January 1st, 2009. Upon notification, children born of unmarried Japanese men and women of foreign nationality may receive Japanese citizenship without official acknowledgement by the father. Those who could not receive citizenship because their parents were not married (before the law changed) may receive citizenship if they apply before December 31, 2011.
